Sounds good? Well then, you should consider purchasing a highlighter. Highlighters create a light, dewy ethereal radiance on your skin. Bobbi Brown beautifully states that highlighters make your skin look as though it is "lit from within".
In order to get your glow, apply highlighter down the bridge of your nose, on your cheekbones, over your cupid's bow, and under the arch of your eyebrows.
Still not sure how to apply without looking like a disco ball? Don't worry, I've got you covered! Watch the video below to see exactly how and where I apply highlighter. I am using Anastasia of Beverly Hills Starlight Illuminator (155aed, Sephora) and the A23 brush (130aed, Sephora). Another great brush for highlighting is the Real Techniques setting brush (43aed, Lifestyle).
TBM Tip: Add a little highlighter to your collarbone on special occasions. The glow looks beautiful in photos!
Highlighters come in two forms, liquid and powder. Liquid highlighters are great for a more "on the go" look. They can be dabbed onto the skin over your favorite foundation or tinted moisturizer using a damp makeup sponge. I recommend the Beauty Blender (80aed, Sephora) or the W.O.W. Beauty Los Angeles Sponge (39aed, Lifestyle). I use powder highlighters because I usually do a full face of makeup (think foundation, concealer, powder, blush, bronzer, etc...yes, I know it's a lot). I prefer to not put something liquid on my skin when it is already set with powder.
Confused on what to buy and where to buy it? No worries! I created this handy chart below based on your skin tone and what sort of shade to look for. I included powder and liquid highlighter suggestions as well.
