This month I discovered two products that I loved and two that were total disasters. Interested in knowing what they are? Read on...
Love: Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Uptight
This is the nude lipstick of my dreams! Last year, Urban Decay released their Vice lipstick collection, which contains 120 shades of lipsticks in five different finishes. I have sampled so many of them and this one is my favorite!
The shade, Uptight, is described as a warm nude. It is the perfect nude lipstick on me. It is natural looking with just a little kick. If you like Huda Beauty's liquid lipstick in Bombshell, you will love this color.
My favorite part about this lipstick is the finish. Comfort matte is the perfect description. It goes on thick and feels hydrating but it is not dry at all! If you do not like liquid lipstick because you feel they are too drying, this lipstick is exactly what you need.
Disaster:Nivea Double Effect Eye Make-Up Remover
I am still recovering from this Nivea eye makeup remover. Yes, recovering. Why? It literally burned off a layer of my skin in the inner and outer corners of my eyes.
I used this during the day when taking off all my makeup (that had melted at an event in the Dubai sun that morning) to reapply for an event that night. I decided to try this out. Immediately my eyes stung so badly I could not even open them. I applied cold compresses to my eyes and laid down for thirty minutes but they were still burning.
Since I am the type to soldier on, I washed my face yet again, and applied my makeup. Big mistake. My eyes were watering the whole night, stinging and burning and my eyeliner was sliding all over the place. I looked crazy. Not a great look for someone who calls themselves a "beauty blogger".
This banana-hued powder is perfect for the under eye area. I usually do a quick sweep of the powder to not only highlight my under eyes but also too cancel out any redness and cover dark circles (sometimes my son likes to start his day at 4am...yikes).
I am not big on loading up on products underneath my eyes because I have fine lines. However, I find this powder doesn't enhance my lines because it is lightweight. It gives me the right amount of brightness without looking cakey.
Disaster: Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
Just because a product has an expensive price tag or a designer name on it, does not mean it is superior. I learned that lesson (for the 1,000th time!) with the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. I had high hopes for this foundation and I was deeply disappointed.
Every single photo I took while wearing this foundation was awful. I mean, seriously bad. My skin looked muddy with no glow. I had weird dark patches across my forehead. Natural lighting and indoor lighting, flash and no flash...I looked terrible! I had read several bad reviews before using this foundation and they all proved to be true. Even my daughter said, "Mommy, what happened to your face?"
Bottom line...I do not recommend this foundation to anyone!
