Sometimes it feels impossible to get anything done. It is easy to feel overwhelmed with life (especially if you have kids at home with you in the summer!).
I was inspired by my busy schedule to create a post filled with beauty tips for busy moms (or just busy ladies!). Sometimes we need to cut corners because we just do not have the time. Here's how I do it!
Here are a few of my favorite beauty hacks that I do all the time. They save me both time AND money!
1. Keep a SPF stick in your car and rub it on your hands every time you get in your car. This will help to prevent your skin from getting age spots and keep a healthy dose of spf on you at all times. If you keep the stick in sight, it will quickly become a (good) habit.
The Bioderma Photoderm MAX Large stick SPF 50+ (49aed, barsharacare.com) does not melt in my car (even on the hottest days) and is easy to apply to the backs of my hands.
2. Ditch the conditioner and use a hair mask instead. Hair masks are more moisturizing and hydrating for your hair. I stopped using hair conditioner a few years ago and switched to masks instead. The result? Healthy, beautiful hair that looks luscious and luxurious! I only need a dirham sized amount so one tub of the hair masque will last me a couple months.
I use strictly Kerastase products and rotate through their range of masks. I am currently using the Kerastase Discipline Maskeratine (249aed, Pastels Salon) because it controls frizz in the humid months.
3. Use clear nailpolish in between manicures. I can easily get away with a manicure every two weeks, however, I cannot stand having chipped polish on my nails. As soon as my polish gets "too chipped" looking, I remove the polish and put on a coat of this clear pink gel polish.
The pink tint gives my nails a pretty look (and a little something "extra"), and it saves me both time and money by allowing me to put off the manicure for another week! It also allows natural light to shine through to my nails and helps ward off yellow-tinged nails.
The Perfect Formula Pink Gel Coat ($30, Sephora.com) is my favorite clear polish (and it is chock-full on proteins and keratin to strengthen and protect nails). Currently it is not available in Dubai, so if you have a friend traveling to the USA, make sure to have them pick it up for you! There are loads of clear polish options in Dubai, too! Check out the Sally Beauty section in Waitrose at the Dubai Mall.
