Every once in a while, I come across a product that blows me away. An instant favorite, one that I know I will repurchase time and time again.
Well, that just happened!
I have a few foundations that I love but I am always on the hunt for something better. Aren't we all? I recently read a few positive reviews about Tom Ford foundations and decided to check them out for myself.
Tom Ford makes a few different foundations in his makeup collection. Generally, I like to wear full coverage because it makes my face look more "done" and I always seem to photograph better. After viewing what he has to offer, I was drawn to the Waterproof Foundation/Concealer product and liked what I saw right away!
Why I like it:
1. Full coverage but does not feel heavy.
Sometimes full coverage foundations feel like a thick dry mask of goop on the face. This one doesn't! Instead my face felt comfortable and my skin could "breathe" throughout the day.
2. Does not settle into fine lines.
Unfortunately, I have some fine lines! I was pleasantly surprised to find that this foundation does not settle into them. Since I love to talk (a lot), I find that my makeup can sink into lines around my mouth during the day. It tends to magnify the lines and looks awful! Somehow, this miracle product seemed to blur the lines. It did not migrate to the lines and magnify them.
3. Skin looks like it has a filter on it.
The first time I applied this foundation, I felt like I have some sort of smoothing and brightening filter on my face. I was not sure if I was delusional to a lack of sleep, (thanks to wonders of jet lag) or if it was the real deal. Every single time I have worn this foundation since, I cannot get over how my beautiful my skin looks. Natural lighting, terrible yellow kitchen lighting, even the dreaded fluorescent lighting...you name it, my skin looks great!
That also translates to sweat proof. One word: Dubai. Need I say more?
Like everything in life, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Well, the downside to this miracle foundation is the price. One tube of this product, which is a mere 1 fluid ounce (30 milliliters) retails for $85.00 at Nordstrom. Yes, that is painful. Very, very painful. However, this is your face we are talking about. You are worth it!
Overall, this foundation is an instant favorite for me. I will absolutely repurchase this time and time again. I wish it was cheaper, but I find that a lot of time with beauty products, you get what you pay for. The high price is due to the fact that this product is just that good.
I highly recommend this product if you are 30+ years of age. Your skin will look better and even younger. As we get older, foundations can sometimes magnify our skin problems. This one blurs them out and perfectly covers the imperfections.
Tom Ford makeup can be found at Bloomingdale's and Galeries Lafayette in the Dubai Mall.
